Guided walk from Brixton to Sherford Country Park - April 2026

Approximately 40 people joined Alex Whish this morning to walk from The Feoffee Park in Brixton along the Public Right of Way to Monkey Lane and then into the Country Park at Sherford.  Thank you to Alex whose knowledge of Sherford and how current plans are progressing was of great interest to everyone.

It was a lovely morning with skylarks singing in the warm sunshine.

Thank you to Steven Cane for sweeping Monkey Lane in readiness for this mornings walk and thank you to Chloe at The Foxhound for providing tea and coffee on our return.

Thank you to everyone who came it was a great morning showing a strong sense of building new community links between Brixton village and Sherford and thank you to Brixton Parish Council Environment Group for organising the event .

Improving the appearance of Brixton village

Thanks to all our volunteers who turn up every month to sweep through the village as part of the team and to those who volunteer for specific jobs to keep our village looking good.

Come and join our enthusiastic band of street sweepers on the first Saturday of each month (except January and August) meeting at The Green at 9am (weather dependent) finishing at 11am, then relaxing with warm drinks at The Foxhound.

If you can spare 2 hours join us or come for whatever time you have.

Everyone's contribution is very welcome as it makes a difference to the amount of sweeping we can achieve in a morning.
