Thanks and Congratulations to BPC
District Cllr Julie Carson (April 2024)
“We are fortunate to live in a beautiful village and both District Cllr Nix and I recognise the diligence and selfless management of the parish council led by the people who really care about Brixton and who commit significant time and effort over the many years. We owe you a profound debt of gratitude and would like to say thank you on behalf of the parishioners. We realise that these words will never be enough to adequately repay your contributions to our village. I would personally like to thank you all for your warm welcome and support that you have given me during my first year as a District Councillor and I look forward to working together to make Brixton an even better place for us all to live. We would also like to give a special thank you to Liz for her inspirational leadership and let her know how much we appreciate her consistent presence and participation in our community. We would not have risen to the challenges this year without your degree of engagement in parish life. Your willingness to assume greater roles within the parish has helped make Brixton the adaptive and creative parish that makes people want to live here and we are fortunate to have your leadership. I would like to close by thanking you, your parish councillors, and your clerk Kirstie for all your hard work.”
District Cllr Chown (April 2021)
“I would like to send my thanks and congratulations to
yourself, Liz, and all the Brixton Parish Councillors for all the great work
that has been done between May 2020 and May 2021. It has been a year that has
provided some challenges, but also many opportunities. Brixton Parish Council
have adapted, even flourished, throughout this pandemic, and the village and
all of its residents are no doubt extremely grateful for all the support the
Council has provided. This leads me to put on record my upmost respect and
admiration for Cllr Helen Deas Williams, and her great enthusiasm and dedication
to the local community. Her recent work surrounding the pandemic was incredibly
impressive and she will be missed by all of us, however I do wish her a
well-deserved rest.
I look forward to continuing to work with all of you over the next year, and providing as much help and support as possible to assist the Council in all of its forthcoming endeavours."
